On energy, intuition, dragons and making room for the unseen....

There are experiences in life that do not fit neatly into the boxes we are given for navigating the world. I have had a few of them. For the longest time, I did not speak about them to my friends or family. They did not see the world the way I did, and they were not open to anything outside of societal norms.

It has taken me four years to write about this particular experience. It has taken three decades of many other unseen encounters to get here.

I now realize that I do not need to explain or justify an experience to share it publicly. I can simply share what happened and how it expanded within me. From there, it is your choice how you perceive and interpret the information.

Meeting the Unseen

For most of my life, I have been fascinated by the unseen. This includes the non-physical world of energy, intuition, dreams, synchronicity, spirits, and other species. I love the feeling of knowing something before we can explain it. I love those moments when an experience carries a depth our logical minds cannot quite handle.

I have always been equally curious about the seen and the unseen.

About four or five years ago, my curiosity became personal. I encountered dragons. Yes, dragons!

It happened during a meditation. It was not something I was searching for or expecting. I did not consciously decide to invite dragons into my mind. They simply appeared, and it felt unmistakably significant. I also experienced being gifted access to light language, which I will share more about in another blog.

I cannot neatly explain these experiences to someone else, and I have never felt compelled to try. I can only describe what happened and what it has meant to me.

Expanding Without Answers

The dragons have remained part of my inner and outer world ever since. I experience them as supportive presences connected to my spiritual journey and to my work. They are part of a larger language of energy and intuition that I continue to explore. I did not need to understand them immediately.

That is the part I find most interesting. We do not always have to understand an experience to let it expand us.

We live in a world that values what can be measured and explained. Discernment matters. Critical thinking matters. Being grounded matters. I am not interested in abandoning those things just because I have had unexplainable experiences to some.

However, not everything meaningful arrives with a scientific explanation:

  • We experience intuition without knowing its source.
  • We dream entire worlds while our bodies stay still.
  • We walk into a room and feel its atmosphere.
  • We think of someone moments before they call.
  • We fall in love or create art without a simple formula.

There is so much of being human that exists between what we know and what we do not understand. I am comfortable living there now.

Allowing Mystery to Remain

My encounter with the dragons belongs in that territory. I do not need everyone to believe in them. What matters is what the experience opened inside me. They remind me that my understanding of life is allowed to evolve.

Children can encounter something extraordinary and simply wonder at it. Somewhere along the way, we become worried about whether an experience is rational enough to share. We learn to edit and silence ourselves to fit into society.

There is a beautiful middle ground between scepticism and blind belief:

  • We can listen to our intuition while keeping our discernment.
  • We can explore spirituality without fearing what others think.
  • We can allow mystery to remain mysterious.

The more I learn, the more I realise I do not know. I find that liberating. I do not want life to become a closed book where every experience already has an explanation. I want room for the unseen.

The dragons gave me a greater willingness to remain open. Life is more expansive than the version I once thought I understood. I am still meeting parts of myself for the first time, and that is a beautiful thing.

A Little Something to Consider

What if you made a little more room for the things you cannot yet explain?

  • Perhaps there is an intuition you dismissed because it lacks logic.
  • Perhaps there is a recurring dream or synchronicity you have not explored.
  • Perhaps there is something fascinating you have not allowed yourself to be curious about.

A conscious life is not just about certainty. It is about becoming spacious enough to discover there is always more to see. In the unknown, we meet parts of ourselves waiting to be discovered.

With love,

Melissa xo
